Connie Gail Haltom

Graveside services for Connie Haltom will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Alva Municipal Cemetery with Rev. Lynn Loyd officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. There will be a visitation with family present 4-6:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2. Connie Gail, daughter of Ralph Gordon and Mildred Earlene (Eslick) Janney, was born July 15, 1940, on the family farmstead in Woodward County, Oklahoma, and passed away peacefully July 23, 2026, at Rogers, Arkansas at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 17 days. She was raised on her family’s farmstead in the Waynoka area where she graduated from Waynoka High School, she attended Northwestern Oklahoma State College. On August 3, 1956, she was united in marriage to Jack Preston Haltom at Waynoka. To this union one daughter was born, Cindy. They eventually made their home in Alva where they both worked in law enforcement. Jack started with the police department and moved to the fire department, working his way up to fire chief. Connie worked as a librarian at the Alva Public Library before moving to the Woods County Sheriff’s office and was a deputy until her retirement. After retirement, Connie worked at the Hopeton Wesleyan Church. Connie was a faithful member of the Hopeton Wesleyan Church before moving to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to be near her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Ralph Janney and Mildred Murray, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Haltom; her daughter, Cindy Loyd; her siblings, Ralph Janney, Jr. and Gloria Goodrich. Connie is survived by her grandchildren, Jacquelyn Middlecamp and husband, Matt, of Springdale, Arkansas, Lyndsey Cryer and husband, Foster, of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Jesse Loyd and wife, Jenny, of Bentonville, Arkansas; her son-in-law, Lynn Loyd and wife, Rebecca, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; nine great grandchildren, Deacon and Kenyan Middlecamp, Witten, Ronan, Milo, and Judah Cryer, and Jackson, Davis, and Kathryn Loyd; Rebecca’s grandchildren, Dalton, Hadley, and Ansley Carnes, and Maebry and Emilia Hankins; other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home tothe Baptist Collegiate Ministry at the University of Arkansas.
