Funeral services for Donnetta Joachims will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Timothy Roggow officiating. Burial will follow in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. Donnetta Jo, daughter of the late Joseph Arville and Grace Lucille (Klotz) Wilcox, was born June 19, 1945, at Englewood, Kansas, and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family February 8, 2025, at Alva, at the age of 79 years, 7 months, and 19 days. Donnetta grew up and attended school in Englewood with her brothers and sisters. In 1962 she was united in marriage to Roger Davis and together they had three children: Tina, Terri, and David. She later married Harold Krout in 1974 and they had a daughter together: Crystal. She lived in Alva, moving to Woodward, and then back to Alva. She also lived in Laverne and Shattuck but returned to Alva where she has lived for the past 40 years. She married Dwayne Joachims in 1981 and they made their home here. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed bowling. Donnetta worked in a doctor’s office in Perry and helped deliver many babies. She became a First Responder but her most satisfying job was being a hairdresser. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Joseph and Grace, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Deloris Wilcox; her brothers, Richard Wilcox and Wallace Wilcox; an infant sister, JoEtta Wilcox; her daughter, Crystal Avila. Donnetta is survived by her son, David Davis and wife, Melinda, of Perry; her daughters, Tina Howard and husband, Mikeo, and Terri Ford and husband, Barry, all of Woodward; her grandchildren, Ryan Howard and wife, Penny, of Woodward, Lacee Broyles and husband, Jeremy, of Chickasha, Kimber Ebisch and husband, John, of Weatherford, Adam Ford and wife, Lynsey, of Moore, Bryce Ford of Woodward, Shalyn Davis of Perry, Austin Wehr of Perry, Rebecca Davidson and husband, Steven, of Alva, Shelby Peterson and husband, Ty, of Ft. Supply, Zaxton Avila-Butler and husband, Shad, of Craig, Colorado, and Seth Avila and girlfriend, Darcy, of Alva; twenty great grandchildren, Chayden, Ryleigh, Miles, Rose, Jackson, Chance, Mikel, Memphis, Bella, Kamlee, Jace, Blaines, Kennedy, Quinn, Oden, Jocelyn, Allison, Warren, Oliver, and Hazel; and one great great grandson, Rowan, to be born in a few weeks. Also surviving are her brother, Darrell Wilcox and wife, Dee, of Wichita, Kansas; her sisters, Linda Owen of Alva, and Brenda Deal and husband, Clifford, of May; many other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Zion Lutheran Church.
