Funeral services for Jerry Dwayne Warrington will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the United Methodist Church in Hardtner, Kansas, with Pastor Clapp officiating. Interment will be in the Hardtner Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. Jerry Dwayne Warrington, son of the late Harry Harrison and Elinor Pauline (Coggins) Warrington, was born June 4, 1949, at the Achenbach Memorial Hospital in Hardtner, Kansas, and passed away in his home August 20, 2023, in Hutchinson, Kansas, at the age of 74 years, 2 months, and 16 days. Jerry graduated from Nickerson High School with the Class of 1968. After graduation, he joined and proudly served in the United States Navy. On April 12, 1975, he married his bride Annette M Toland at the Congregational Church in Kiowa. They lived in Garden City, St. John and Medicine Lodge, Kansas, before moving to Hutchinson, Kansas, where they lived for the last 36 years. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic most of his life for places such as Massey Ferguson and Reno County. He also worked as a truck driver, cabinet builder, and on custom wheat and corn harvests. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering in his shop, hunting, woodworking and cruising the gyp hills. Most of all, he loved spending time with family, friends, and Lil Maggie Sue. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Robert Warrington, Don Warrington, Larry Warrington, Ron Warrington, David Warrington, Russell Warrington, and Monte Warrington; one sister, Carol Weidkamp; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Hewlett and Patsy Thomas; and three brothers-in-law, Jeff Hawkins, Jerry Hewlett, and Jim Hewlett. Jerry is survived by his wife, Annette Marie Warrington; one son, Jerome Dustin “J.D.” Warrington and wife, Shelia, of Hutchinson, Kansas; one daughter, Dawn Marie Warrington (Lee Trekell), of Alva; one sister, Ruth Ann Hawkins of Newton, Kansas; six grandchildren, Johnathen Warrington of Wichita, Kansas, Holly Warrington (Connor Wasinger), of Hutchinson, Hannah Metsker (Devon Gordan), of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Elayna Warrington of Alva; one great grandson, Midas Gordon; and six sisters-in-law, Diana Almquist, Dorothy Lansdown, Pricillia Franz, Cathy Warrington, Vicki Warrington, Connie Warrington; other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to a love fund at Marshall's Funeral Home.
