Kelly Van Seevers

Graveside services for Kelly Seevers will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Avard IOOF Cemetery with Pastor John Clapp officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. Kelly Van, was born 8th of 13 children to William Riley and Lula Faye (Chatman) Seevers on August 8, 1948, at Searcy, Arkansas, and passed away June 25, 2026, at Oklahoma City at the age of 77 years, 10 months, and 17 days. Kelly grew up with his large family in Des Arc where he graduated high school. He joined and proudly served in the United States Army. Kelly served a tour of duty in Vietnam during the war. It was rare to not see him wearing his Vietnam veterans cap, which he wore proudly. On May 28, 1998, he was united to Melva Kay Davis at Alva where they made their home. He contracted for Pettit’s Carpet as a Floor Covering Specialist for many years until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Alva Moose Lodge. He loved dancing, fishing, and hosting family get togethers where he would often pull out his harmonica, even though he was terrible at it, but was great on the spoons! Kelly also enjoyed watching Thunder basketball, game shows, and any and all things news. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melva; his siblings, Gene Seevers, William Seevers, Mallory Seevers, Mike Seevers, Patricia Kletke, and Freida Seevers; a stepdaughter, Sherri Omo; and one step-granddaughter, Aimee Lee Wright. He is survived by a son, Kelly Van Seevers, Jr.; his stepchildren, Jeff Test of Alva, Michael Muhle of Claremore, and Catherine Pierce and husband, Joseph, of Warr Acres; his brothers, Jerry Seevers and wife, Sue, of Des Arc, Arkansas, and Terry Seevers and wife, Donna, of Paragould, Arkansas; his sisters, Diane Noel of Des Arc, Arkansas, Theresa Jones and husband, Dexter, of Carlisle, Arkansas, Anna Hollowell of Redfield, Arkansas, and Carla Greenwood and husband, Chet, of Des Arc, Arkansas. Also surviving are five step-grandchildren, Joshua Fisher and wife, Stacy, of Oklahoma City, Lindsey Rollins and husband, Matt, of Wiley, Texas, Sierra Muhle of Claremore, Jesse Muhle of Claremore, and Mariah Muhle of Virginia; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
