Loreta Maydeen Green

Funeral services for Loreta Green will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Cherokee with Rev. Bryan Laramore officiating. Burial will follow in the Carmen City Cemetery under the direction of Wentworth Mortuary, LLC. There will be a visitation with family present on Tuesday from 5:30- 7:00 p.m. Loreta Maydeen, daughter of Cleon C. and Vera Amy (Murphy) Jack, was born January 4, 1933, at Byron and passed away peacefully April 2, 2026, at Enid, at the age of 93 years, 2 months, and 30 days. Loreta grew up in the Amorita/Byron area before moving to Carmen where she graduated high school. She met the love of her life, Vencil “Corky” Green, and they were married October 6, 1950, at Cherokee. Two children were born of this union: Jackie Charles and Rita Jane. They made their home in the Carmen area where they raised their family. When Corky was deployed with the United States Army, Loreta worked for a few years at the Carmen Bank. She was also a Mary Kay Consultant for 30+ years, she loved teaching all about skin care, and eventually purchased one of the Pink Cadillacs from her hard work and sales efforts. Loreta also was the Carmen City Librarian for a few years and created many fun activities for the children in the community. In addition to the jobs she worked, Loreta and Corky farmed and ranched and even raised a few race horses. Loreta was a lifelong member of the Carmen Christian Church. Her faith and love for the Lord was evident in her daily life. She was a Sunday School Teacher for the children classes for many years and eventually became the Sunday School Teacher for the adult class. She and her dearest friend Earlene Moser, were instrumental in organizing any church, community, or funeral dinners. Meatballs and dinner rolls were her specialty and that is what you could always count on her to bring. She also was the homemade “ syrup “ maker for the Carmen/ Dacoma Waffle Supper back in the day!!! Loreta was a wonderful care giver to many people throughout her life, she loved helping and serving others. She had a very unique special gift in nursing others back to health. Loreta loved doing things for her family and planned many gatherings throughout the years. She cherished moments with her children, her and Corky’s siblings and their children, nieces and nephews, along with her own grandkids and her great grandchildren. She did not want to miss any of their activities. Besides her parents, Cleon and Vera, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 73 years, Corky Green; her son, Jackie Charles Green; her brother, Jackie Jack; and her sister, Lola Jean Lamle. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Green of Hot Springs, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Courtney Green and fiancé, Matt Elliott, of Enid, Mathew Green and wife, Molly, of Cherokee, and Jessica Green of Aline; her daughter-in-law, Sherry Green; four great grandchildren, Benelli Green, Lucian English, Stratton Green, and Candice Green; other relatives and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the mortuary to the Carmen Library or the Circle of Love Hospice.
