Mallory Dewart Seevers

Funeral services for Mallory Seevers will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor John Clapp officiating. Burial will follow in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. There will be a visitation with family present from 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2023, at Marshall Funeral Home. Mallory Dewart, son of the late William Riley and Lula Faye (Chatman) Seevers, was born December 8, 1939, at Beebe, Arkansas, and passed away surrounded by family, October 29, 2023, at Oklahoma City, at the age of 83 years, 10 months, and 21 days. He grew up in Arkansas where he attended school. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961. He lived in Arkansas, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Denver, Colorado before settling in Alva. On June 1, 1964, he was united in marriage to Ada Janette Lander at Alva. To this union two children were born: Cristina and Ryan. They made their home in Alva where they raised their family. Mallory was a member of the Bible Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed singing and drumming, carpentry, flying kites, and anything to do with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He worked as a carpet installer for many years. Mallory will always be remembered for his sweet, sincere disposition. Besides his parents, William and Lula, he was preceded in death by his precious wife of 58 years, Janette; and his siblings, Gene Seevers, William Seevers, Mike Seevers, Patricia Kletke, and Freida Seevers. Mallory is survived by his children, Cris Gabus and husband, John, of Oklahoma City, and Ryan Seevers and wife, Debra, of Chester; four grandchildren, Dustin Gabus of Washington D.C., Mallory Willman and husband, Nick, of Oklahoma City, Amber Vaverka and husband, Evan, of Enid, and Amberlee Seevers of Oklahoma City; two great grandchildren, Logan Vaverka and Siobhan Vaverka, both of Enid; his brothers, Jerry Seevers and wife, Sue, of Des Arc, Arkansas, Kelly Seevers of Alva, and Terry Seevers and wife, Donna, of Paragould, Arkansas; his sisters, Diane Noel of Des Arc, Arkansas, Theresa Jones and husband, Dexter, of Carlisle, Arkansas, Anna Hollowell of Redfield, Arkansas, and Carla Greenwood and husband, Chet, of Des Arc, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Alzheimer’s research.
