Shirley Ann Pitts

Funeral services for Shirley Ann Pitts will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 28, 2025, at the College Hill Church of Christ in Alva, with Steve Hamm officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 P.M. in Rock Cemetery, Duke, Oklahoma, with Bill David Walker officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Marshall Funeral Home in Alva, with family present. Shirley Ann Pitts, 81, of Alva, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, in Oklahoma City. Born on October 18, 1943, in Goodlett, Texas, she was the daughter of Homer and Cordelia (Mahan) Poole. Shirley graduated from Quanah High School in 1962. She married Jimmy LaRue Pitts on August 12, 1962, in Quanah. They moved to Duke, Oklahoma, in 1966, and later, Shirley moved to Alva in 2020. Shirley was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. She had a passion for sewing, arts, and crafts, often selling her handmade items at local markets. In 1975, she earned her cosmetology degree, balancing work at the school and her beauty shop. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy; her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Cindy Poole; her sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and Bobby Holtzclaw; her sister, Sandy Poole; brother-in-law, J.T. Lindsey; and grandson-in-law, Alex Kopf. She is survived by her daughter, Becky Miranda and husband Gregg of Alva; sons, Craig Pitts and wife Diana, and Ronnie Pitts and wife Alicia, all of Waynoka; brothers, Claudie Poole and wife Faye of Enid, Kenneth and Lota Poole of Amarillo, Texas, Bobby and Ann Poole of Amarillo, and Harold Poole and wife Cathy of Borger, Texas; sisters, Martha Clem and husband Lewis of Camargo, and Lucille Lindsey of Quanah; grandchildren, Tanner Miranda, Vanessa Kopf, Nathan Pitts, Mattie Pitts, McKenzie Pitts, and Marlie Pitts; great-grandchildren, Colton Kopf and Allyson Annis; and many other relatives and friends. Shirley’s family will always remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her creativity, dedication, and unwavering love have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Memorial contributions may be made to the Beadles Activity Fund, Church of Christ Duke Building Fund, or College Hill Church of Christ through the funeral home.
