Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. There will be a visitation with family present on Thursday, January 7, 2021, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Glenda Jo (Wimmer) Arndt, daughter of JoAnn Wimmer and the late Bill Wimmer, was born March 20, 1957, at Chanute, Kansas, and passed away January 5, 2021, at Alva, at the age of 63 years, 9 months, and 16 days. Glenda attended school in Alva and graduated with the class of 1975. She attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University. On May 22, 1976, she was united in marriage to Leroy Arthur Arndt at the Methodist Church in Alva. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Alva. She was a dedicated employee, working in accounting and management, at WalMart for 40+ years. After retiring, she began working at NWOSU. She absolutely loved working at the college for the past few years. Glenda enjoyed planting and taking care of her flowers in the summer, attending concerts with friends, shopping and traveling. But her greatest joy was watching her grandkids play sports and attending their activities. Besides her father, Bill Wimmer, and stepfather, Garland Wilson, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Arndt and her father-in-law, Maynard Arndt. She is survived by her children, Lori Caviness and husband, John, of Alva, Erica Miller and husband, Corey, of Enid, and Dallas Arndt of Alva; her mother, JoAnn Roberts and husband, Walter, of Edmond; her mother-in-law, Katharina Arndt of Alva; seven grandchildren, Kaden and Kylie of Alva, MaKenzie, Huston, Avery, Nixon, and Channing of Enid. Also surviving are her brothers, Billy Wimmer and wife, Sandy, of Freedom, Charlie Wimmer of Midland, Texas, and Larry Wimmer and wife, Debbie, of Mobridge, South Dakota; one sister, Sharry Thompson and husband, Brad, of Hutchison, Kansas; in-laws, Teresa and Ed Sutter, Tena and Mike Martin, and Rita and Miles Peterson, all of Alva; numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation .
