Funeral services for Helen Francis McCabe will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel with Don Hull officiating. Interment will be in the Waynoka Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. Helen McCabe, daughter of the late John Francis and Clara (Moore) Francis, was born January 25, 1921, in the Rose Valley Community in Woods County, Oklahoma, and passed away January 14, 2019, at Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 97 years, 11 months, and 19 days. Helen graduated from Waynoka High School. She then entered nurses training at Wichita, Kansas, under the Sts. of St. Joseph. She worked in the E.P. Clapper Hospital, being the first nurse on duty when the new hospital was built. Helen became a member of the Waynoka First United Methodist Church in 1939. She loved her God and church families. She was a country girl who enjoyed riding her horse and had many pets. She loved to travel and made many trips with her two aunts, Lorraine, and Vera Moore. She loved her many friends and bridge friends. Helen is survived by her two children, Rex Hodges and wife, Winona, of Woodward, and LeaAnn Miller and husband, Allen, of Waynoka; two grandchildren, John Miller and wife, LeAnne, of Wichita, and Kellie Taylor and husband, Kyle, of Woodward; and three great-grandchildren, Zach Taylor, Caleb Miller, and Zoey Taylor.
