Isla Hada Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services for Isla F. Hada will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2022, at the Alva Wesleyan Church with Pastor Paul Kirk, Rev. Louis Garcia, and Rev. Max Colaw officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. Isla F. Hada, daughter of the late Wesley Alexander Copeland and Edith Naomi (Chatham) Copeland, was born February 12, 1948, in Topeka, Kansas, and passed away May 24, 2022, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 74 years, 3 months, and 12 days. Isla graduated from Topeka High School. She then attended Miltonvale Wesleyan College and received her bachelor’s degree from Marion College (Now Indiana Wesleyan University). Later, she went on to receive her master’s degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. On June 27, 1970, she was united in marriage to Roger Leon Hada in Topeka, Kansas. They lived a couple of places before moving to Alva in 1976. She taught in an elementary classroom, mostly 5th grade at Lincoln Elementary here in Alva, for 30 plus years! She was a member of the Alva Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, playing games, crafting, and painting. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jane Greene. Isla is survived by her husband, Roger, of Alva; two sons, Benjamin Hada and wife, Jennifer, of Andrews, Texas, and Dustin Hada and wife, Dana, of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one daughter Jennifer Ondriezek and husband, Allen, of Andrews, Texas; three brothers, Charles Copeland of New York, Melvin Copeland and wife, Sharon, of Topeka, and Randy Copeland and wife, Phyllis, of Topeka; and three sisters, Linda Wheeler and husband, Tony, of Walton, Kansas, Shirley Wheeler and husband, Mark, of Holland, Michigan, and JoAnna Bayless of Topeka, Kansas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Samantha Zahorsky and husband, Keaton, of Marlin, Texas, Cody Hada of Alva, Matthew Hada of Andrews, Texas, Madelynn Hada of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Kade, Julia, Ava, and Kole Ondriezek of Andrews, Texas. Also, hundreds of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Alva Wesleyan Church Youth and Children’s Ministries.
