Lois Darlene McCray Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lois Darlene McCray daughter of Robert Henry Heiney and Mildred Avis (Wright) Heiney was born February 13, 1945, in Seattle, Washington, and passed away May 6, 2021, at the age of 76. She will be interred beside her sons at the Waynoka Cemetery. The arrangements are entrusted to Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka. Lois graduated from Hobart High School, Hobart Oklahoma, in 1963. She was employed at a Law Firm in Alva, Oklahoma, where she met and married Samuel E. McCray on April 21, 1967, in Clayton, New Mexico. She became a Naval Officer's wife and moved twelve times to Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Oklahoma. During that time she raised two sons Marc Scott McCray born in Hobart, Ok, January 19, 1970, and Chad Alan McCray born in Key West, Florida, December 29, 1975, much of the time on her own while Samuel was deployed on various Aircraft Carriers. Lois was very social, funny and always with a joke making friends easily. Through out the many moves she still kept in contact with many of her friends. She was very active with her children taking them to church, the beach, the pool, sporting events and playgrounds. She was an excellent Bridge player and would play several times a week often making high even at duplicate. After over a year a fighting stage four Pancreatic Cancer, having surgery to attempt to remove the cancer, she returned home for chemo and rest. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her two sons, Marc in 2017, Chad in 2005 and her sister Charlene. Lois is survived by her husband Samuel, her brother Robert Heiney of Hobart, Oklahoma, and granddaughter Alena McCray of Idaho Springs, Colorado.
