Funeral services for Lois Yvonne Nieman will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Pingelton officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. Lois Yvonne Nieman, daughter of the late James Eugene and Grace Mae (Uhl) Murrow, was born December 30, 1941, in Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away July 10, 2021, in Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 79 years, 6 months, and 10 days. Yvonne attended Farry School and later received her GED. On June 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to Charles Nieman in Carmen. She was a cook at Alva High School for many years, then managed the office for Nieman Plumbing until her retirement. As an avid OSU fan, she attended many Oklahoma State Cowboy games and also enjoyed going to all her grandkids events. Later in life, she enjoyed eating lunch with her friends and sitting in her porch swing watching the hummingbirds. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Stroud; one sister-in-law; and four brothers-in-law. Yvonne is survived by three children, Debbie Stroud and husband, Tony Ishmael, of Alva, Roger Nieman and wife, Cathy, of Stillwater, Jeff Nieman and wife, Sherri, of Ralston; two sisters, Wilma Jean Johnson of Holcomb, Kansas, and LaVida Anderson and husband, Elmo, of Helena; her in-laws, LaVona Nieman of Tuttle; Clifford Nieman and wife, Lauresta, of Guthrie, and Jane McMurphy of Sharon. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Eric Stroud and wife, Elise, of Owasso, Kimberly Barnhill and husband, Joey, of Oklahoma City, Cody Nieman and wife, Charlie Dawn, of Collinsville, and Matthew Nieman of Norman, Andrew Nieman and Elizabeth Nieman, both of Stillwater; three great grandchildren, Charlie Grace Stroud and Walker Stroud, both of Owasso, and Blakely Barnhill of Oklahoma City; other relatives and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the MS Society.
