Memorial services for Loleta Mae Leslie will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2019, at the Alva First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Carol Cook Moore officiating. A private interment service for the family will be prior to the service under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. Loleta Mae Leslie, daughter of the late Paul Mathew and Edith (Smith) Small, was born August 22, 1930, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, and passed away September 23, 2019, at Oklahoma City, at the age of 89 years, 1 month, and one day. After Loleta graduated from Dacoma High School, she earned an Associates Degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University. On February 26, 1950, she was united in marriage to Max Leon Leslie in Dacoma. They lived in Dacoma many years where they farmed and ranched before moving to Alva. She was a member of the Alva First United Methodist Church where she was very involved. She was also a member of Woods County Farm Bureau and the Republican Women. She also took care of the cemetery records for Garrison Cemetery and helped publish “Footprints Across Woods County.” Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, J. W. Small. Loleta is survived by her husband, Max, of Alva; two sons, Lonnie Leslie and wife, Kathy, from Miles City, Montana, and Larry Leslie and wife, Beth, of Dacoma; and one daughter, Paula Mahieu and husband, Jim, of Cherokee. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Kimberly Leslie Cederberg and husband, Dallas, of Miles City, Montana, Michelle Householder and husband, Dael, of Billings, Montana, Loraine Colvin and husband, David, of Billings, Montana, Lance Leslie of Dacoma, Seth Leslie of Oklahoma City, Alyssa Mahieu and Jeff Irwin, of Dacoma, Mitch Mahieu and wife, Jennifer of Carmen, and Matt Mahieu of Dacoma; nine great grandchildren, Kaylee, Madison, Cade, Hannah, Moriah, Jocelyn, Jordan, Logan, Grady and Abby, the grand-dog; other relatives and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Alva First United Methodist Church Priscilla Women’s Circle.
