Graveside memorial services for Robert Joel Calvery will be 10:00 a..m. Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Thure Tolson officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka, LLC. Robert Joel Calvery, son of the late R. Dell and Audie May (Bramblett) Calvery, was born August 5, 1937, in County Line, Oklahoma, and passed away July 4, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 29 days. Bob quit high school to join the United States Navy on August 11, 1954. He was honorably discharged on June 26, 1958, and obtained his GED. He lived in Moore, where he was an independent truck driver. On December 18, 1981, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Linder. They moved to Waynoka where he continued driving trucks until his retirement. They also farmed and ranched. He was a member of the Waynoka First Baptist Church. He enjoyed all outdoors activities, especially golf. He loved music and played the guitar. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jirden Calvery; and one sister, Shirley Owens. Bob is survived by his wife, Carolyn, of Waynoka; three sons, Joel Calvery and wife, Vera of Edmond, Mike Clapper and wife, Denise, of Norman, and Robert Clapper of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Terrie Vaughn of Oklahoma City, and Cheryl Jones of Woodward; one brother, Gene Calvery of Stillwater; and one sister, Donna Schick of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Waynoka First Baptist Church.
