Wilma Jean Adair

October 18, 1928 - June 9, 2019

Graveside services for Wilma Jean Adair will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at the Alva Municipal Cemetery with Bill David Walker officiating. Interment is under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. There will be a visitation with the family at the funeral home from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. Wilma Jean Adair, daughter of the late William M. and Clittie Mabel (Metcalf) Province, was born October 18, 1928, near Freedom, Oklahoma, and passed away June 9, 2019, at Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years, 7 months, and 21 days. Wilma graduated from Alva High School. On July 30, 1946, she was united in marriage to Leonard Bryce Adair at Medicine Lodge, Kansas. They lived in Alva where she worked at Tyree’s Mens Store. When her kids were in school, she was active in PTA and the Girl and Boy Scouts. She was an active member of the community, helping with the cancer drive and working some elections. She had lunch with a group of ladies she went to school with once a month, and enjoyed coffee with friends at Holders. She was baptized into the College Hill Church of Christ. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Ruby Terrill, Goldie Reutlinger, Velma Lenz, Flossie Wilks, and Valleria Stewart; and two brothers, Wilbur Province and Mart Province. Wilma is survived by her husband, Bryce of Alva; four children, Bryce Eugene Adair and wife, Mona Jane, of Waynoka, Helen Faye Hall of Alva, Steven Patrick Adair and wife, Misty, of Alva, and Alan Jay Adair and wife, Lori, of Waynoka. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Matt Adair and wife, Kasey, of Alva, Adam Adair and wife, Amy, of Enid, Shannon Wood and husband, Tyler, of North Richland Hills, Texas, Lori Pearson Tatro and husband, Troy, of Wichita, Shelby Adair of Andrews, Texas, Austin Adair of Alva, and Alten Jake Adair of Waynoka; 13 great grandchildren, Kylie, Conner, and Keaton Adair, Gradee, Kade, and Luke Adair, Madison and Morgan Wood, Jaeden and Isaac Tatro, and Addalie, Tyler and Alivia Adair; other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Homestead.
