Funeral services for Carolyn Moraniec will be 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at the Groom First Baptist Church in Groom, Texas, with Rev. Andy Dietz officiating Funeral services for Carolyn will also be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at the Church of God in Waynoka, Oklahoma, with Pastor Ken Higgins officiating. Interment will follow in the Waynoka Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka, LLC. Carolyn Ann Moraniec (nee Rawson), 78, peacefully passed away September 15,2018. She was born October 25,1939, in the town of Alva, OK, to Cecil and Fern Rawson. She was the beloved wife of 37 years to the late James Charles Moraniec of Groom, TX, and devoted mother of the late Elizabeth Leigh Huskey Fulgham of Waynoka, OK, and Jeffrey Dean Huskey of Amarillo, TX. She graduated from Waynoka High School in 1957. She married Jimmy Dean Huskey in 1959 in Amarillo, TX. She worked as a warehouse clerk at the Pantex Plant in Amarillo for 28 years and retired in 2003. She married James Charles Moraniec in 1976 and resided in Groom, TX. Her passions were crocheting, watching and encouraging her grandkids and great-grandkids as they played every kind of sport and supporting their endeavors in extracurricular activities. She especially loved volunteering as a kindergarten teacher’s aide the last 4 years in Groom. She helped the kids with reading, writing, tying shoelaces, and more. Carolyn is the oldest daughter of the late Cecil and Fern Rawson of Waynoka, OK. She is the sister to Lloyd Rawson of San Antonio, and the late Cecilia Cross of Alva; doting grandmother to Jeremy Lee, Jake Fulgham, J.D. Fulgham, Marie Peacock of Waynoka, and Nathan Hopson of Amarillo, loving great-grandmother to Jason, Ryan, Lilian, Jonathon and Jackson Lee, Michael Peacock and Derrick Steffen, all of Waynoka. Nieces and nephews in San Antonio include Tim, Josh, Jordan, and Olivia Rawson and Lisa Preston with Conner Preston and Kelsie Jo Dowlearn. Nieces and nephews in Lahoma include Butch, Matthias, Jeremiah, Tristan, Brenden, and Samantha Cross. Carolyn was very proud of her extended family in Groom and will be missed by all that knew her as “Granny Carolyn” and loved her, including step-children, Mary Treadwell of Groom, Alex Moraniec of San Antonio, Tony Moraniec of Amarillo, Thomas Moraniec of Groom, and Angela Quintanilla of San Antonio. Also by her step- granddaughters, Melissa Ritter, Trisha Stephens, Victoria Moraniec, Hailey Quintanilla, Alexandria Quintanilla, Lacy Barkley, and Laura Moraniec; step-grandsons, Daniel Treadwell, T.J. Moraniec, Ryan Moraniec, and Philip Moraniec. Step-Great-Grandchildren include Hayden, Carson, Sydney, and Aubrey Ritter; Braedon Williams, Trey, Trevor, and Tatum Stephens; Graci, Cooper and Emerson Treadwell. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the First Baptist Church in Groom, Texas, or the Waynoka Church of God.
