Clark Douglas Schultz

Funeral service for Clark Schultz will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Town and Country Christian Church with Pastor Neal Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. There will be a visitation with family present 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Clark Douglas, son of Jake and Vera (Beagley) Schultz, was born September 17, 1944, at Freedom, Oklahoma, and passed away August 17, 2026, at Pratt, Kansas, at the age of 81 years and 11 months. Clark was raised in Freedom where he graduated High School. After high school he attended Okmulgee Tech Center for a short time. He returned home and spent a semester at Northwestern Oklahoma State College until he was drafted into the United States Army, serving from 1965-1968 during the Vietnam War. On January 15, 1965, he was united in marriage to Shirley Smith at Alva. After returning from the military, they made their home in Alva and ran the VIP Supper Club for nearly 20 years. Together they had two sons: Clint and Clain. Clark was a longtime member of the Town and Country Christian Church in Alva. He was also a lifetime member of the Alva Moose Lodge, the VFW, the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed building and digging ponds with his bulldozer. Besides his parents, Jake and Vera; he was preceded in death by his sons, Clint Schultz and Clain Schultz; his brother, Levi Schultz; his sister, Roxie Duncan; and infant sister, Nova Jean Schultz. Clark is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Schultz of Alva; his sister, Trixie Leslie and husband, Jim, of Dacoma; four grandchildren, Briana Schultz of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tabitha Schultz and Dylan of Muskogee, Christopher Schultz and Abigail Schultz, both of La Porte, Texas; a great grandson, Augustus Durossette; a sisters-in-law, Debbie Schultz of Alva and Donna Roe of Texas; many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Town and Country Christian Church, Freedom Gates Boy’s Ranch, or memorial of choice.
